Shiraz International Airport, also known as Shahid Dastgheib Airport or the new airport, was built in 1962 in Shiraz. The airport was built and operated on a land area of about 500 hectares. It has been introduced as an airport with international flights in the country's travel circles since 1967. Shiraz Airport is one of the best-equipped airports in the country after Imam Khomeini Airport. These types of equipment include navigation and electronics equipment in the field of aviation and airports, which ultimately make this airport a military and passenger airport. At present, Shiraz Airport, as the capital airport of the province, is equipped with the most advanced equipment and navigation aids DVOR / DME and ILS.
One of the facilities that this airport has provided to foreign travelers who enter the country through this airport is that all tourists, including non-Iranian merchants and traders who are citizens of different countries, after entering the country can receive a two-week tourist visa in less than 15 minutes and officially enter the country. This law does not apply to citizens of the United States, Canada, Colombia, the United Kingdom, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan, Bangladesh, and Somalia.
