Margoon waterfall, with a height of 70 meters and a width of 100 meters, is one of the most magnificent waterfalls in Fars. The designated grounds of this beautiful waterfall have a parking lot, a bathroom, and flat areas provided by the municipality to set up tents and accommodate visitors.

Since there is no river at the top of the waterfall, thousands of springs that boil and flow from the heart of the mountain are the source of water for this beautiful waterfall, making Margoon a spring as well. The river from Margoon springs extends to Sepidan (formerly Ardakan). In this area, you will see icy lanterns next to the waterfall. Apple orchards, hawthorn trees, barberry bushes among the dense forest trees double the natural beauty of it. The inhabitants of Margoon village are of Luri origin and speak the beautiful Luri dialect.

In a Nutshell

Margoon waterfall is located north of Fars province, 150 kilometers outside Shiraz. In the warm seasons of the year, with the waterfall falling and the surrounding trees sprouting, the weather is much more pleasant. Even in the hottest days of the year, the temperature of this region reaches only 10 degrees Celsius. So, if you are planning to spend the weekend in nature, the peaceful sound of the waterfall and the great green space, make Margoon the perfect spot for you.
