Ilkhani School is affiliated with Qajar Dynasty, located in Shiraz, in Shah’s Square neighborhood, behind Ilkhani Mosque. It is one of the first schools for children, where they learned reading, writing, and studied theosophy, philosophy, and arts and crafts. Ilkhani Garden of Shiraz (used as a school in past) was built during Mohammad Gholi Khan's rule, the Qashqai nomad leader. The garden is close to Bibi Dokhtaran Tomb in Shiraz. It is a lush green space, with an old mansion right at its heart. The western part of the garden remains unrenewed, preserving its sense of antiquity. It has an area of about 3500 square meters.
The Ilkhani School is where all the academic learning systems in Shiraz began. If you’re interested in the historical evolution of the educational system, you will most definitely enjoy a visit to this beautiful sight.
